report as follows : Oats—There has not been much inquiry for Southland oats du’ing the past week, as prices asked are higher than those quoted by Dunedin merchants, and Australian and Northern buyers are going past us and placing their orders with Dunedin. We, however, think that when stocks there are lessened our market will rule steady at moderate values. To-day prime feed oats are worth up to Is 6d, medium and ordinary Is 4d, on trucks at wayside stations, sacks extra. Wheat—There has been no change in values this week. Very prime milling samples are worth 4s on trucks at wayside stations. Good samples, from 3s 9d to 4s, and chick wheat 3s per bushel, delivered in Invercargill, sacks in, usual terms. Eye Grass—There is no movement to report. Market continues in a lifeless condition. Chaff —No demand. Nominal value, L2 10s, on trucks at wayside stations. Linseed —Demand continues good, and clean samples can be placed up to ss, on trucks, bags extra. Stock Sales—At Wallacetown yards on Tuesday last only a fair number of fat stock was jarded, and prices showed a slight improvement on previous sale. Best fat bullocks brought from L 6 10s to L 7 15s per head ; medium and light weights, L 4 to L 6 ; fat cows, L 5 7s 6d to L 7. There was no demand for stores ; extra fat wethers sold at from 16s to 18s 9d ; medium weight, 12s. to 14s ; fat ewes, 10s 6d to 13s 3d; lighter sorts up to 9s. Skins, Hides and Tallow—We held our usual sale on Monday last and submitted a good catalogue. All the buyers were in attendance, and lots were weir competed tor. Dry crossbred skins sold at from 3s 5d to 4s 6d, medium and poorly flayed skins, Is 3d to 2s sd; rough fat, 7s 3d per cwt and rendered tallow at 10s 6d per cwt.
