(From Our Own Correspondents.) FOREST HILL. The weather still continues very stormy, while daring this last fortnight farm work has been at a stands still. There are still a good many paddocks of oats to v sow, and some which will require to be sown over again, so that it is hardly possible to imagine the feelings of most of the farmers in this part of the district. The Debating Society held its last ordinary meeting on Wednesday, 13th. A series of impromptu speeches was the order of the night. It was arranged to begin the session next year on the first Wednesday in April, and a committee was appointed to draw up a programme, The social committee are busy making preparations for the 19th November, It is to be hoped the storms will be past before then. The Forest Hill String Band are booked for the Celtic ball at Browns on the 3rd of November, to supply the musical part of the programme. Cricket is very quiet here just now —too much water about.
