FISH TAKE A BACK SEAT.

Cycling yarns seem to be taking the place of fishing yarns. Here is a story from Egypt; — A party of cyclists were touring along the bank of the Nile when one of them came to grief over what looked like a log of wood. The obstacle, however, was really a crocodile, which at once snapped at the assailant, narrowly missing the cyclist and getting a good hold on the pneumatic tyre. As a ciocodile’s teeth are as sharp as needles, the tyre punctured in several places, the air rushed out with a whizz and nearly blew the crocodile’s tongue down his throat, and the top of his jaw off. He was so scared by the unusual sensation that he made straierht for the river without delay. Next, please.
