HOME DECORATION.
The following device for making a pretty corner table may be of interest to my readers, as it is so simple. Have a piece of wood fitted into the corner and attach little silk or cretonne curtains to the edge of the wood. These curtains should be run on to a cord and may be drawn partially, or quite close. Above the table is a dado of drawn art muslin, of a suitable colour with a shelf above. For a very trifling sum a corner of a room can be made to look cosy and artistic. This device can be carried out in a small bed-room in the corner near the window, and a pretty toilet table thus arranged. I saw a very pretty ornamental corner. There was a long strip of glass, with a narrow drapery of art muslin on each side, festooned at the top. This opened outwards and disclosed shelves all the way up, holding all sorts of pretty things. At a conveinent height was a three cornered piece of wood forming a table, covered with plush or festooned at the edge and falling on to the curtains of art muslin . These were looped back to show a square of handsome embroidery, intended originally for a cushion. The effect was very good and easily arrived at. Linda.
