The' worst hurricane for many years passed over the Islands on the 22nd and 23rd. Croat damage was done at Tchio, Canala, mid on the Kouaou Nickel Comproperties. The old steamer Hero and the barque Emilie Gallina is ashore at Tchio. The ship Yille Due Havre was stranded at Horo.

wholesale business quarter of Montreal has been destroyed by fire, including the Board of Trade buildings. The damage is 5,000,000 dollars.
