Per Press Asociatiou. WELLINGTON, November 29. J. B. Imrie, late railway stationmaster at Foxton, who pleaded guilty to forgery of vouchers, was admitted by Judge Edwards to probation for two years. A friend has undertaken to repay the moneys for which accused was responsible. The Crown Prosecutor intimated this morning that he did not intend to proceed with the remaining charges against Brother Kilian. The trial of Edouard Forrier (Brother Wybertus), on a charge of indecent 'insult on .ai lad named William Hardwick, formerly tin inmate of the Stoke School, but now at Burnham, began before Mr Justice Edwards! this morning. Hardwick in his examination admitted that there were discrepancies between his ■-datements of to-day and those in the Magistrates’ Court. At the conclusion of his evidence, the Judge, in answer to the Crown Prosecutor, said that he would not hang a cat upon such evidence. Mr Bell tendered no further evidence, and the jury #, His Honour’s direction ■eturned a verdict of not guilty. Two Wairarapa divorce cases were before die Chief Justice to-day. Sarah E. Stanley sued W. E. Stanley on the ground of desertion ; and James Mackenzie proceeded urainst Elizabeth Mackenzie on the ground -if misconduct with A. Fraser, who was joined a.s co-respondent. Decrees nisi were granted in both cases
