A large number of entries have been received by the Sheep Breeders’ Association for their first show, opening on June 29th. They include all the chief New Zealand breeders, who will be strongly represented in the long wool classes. MR EDDY. The Premier has received a communication from Mr Eddy, requesting him not to bring the question of his salary before Parliament. Mr Reid supposes this to indicate that Mr Eddy will accept a re-engagement. SIX TONS OF SILVER. The output of the Proprietary mine last week was over 200,000 ounces of silver. SHIPPING. Arrived—Huia, from Kaipara, after a tempestuous voyage. Newcastle, June 8. Sailed—George Perkin, for Timaru. OUTRAGE BY BLACKS. Brisbane, June 8. A band of blacks attacked a camp of Chinese miners in Maytown district, and killed one and dangerously wounded another. H.M.S. DART IN A GALE. The warship Dart met a furious gale on the way from Sydney to Brisbane. Captain Hewing was thrown across the deck and had two ribs broken, and one of the crew was seriously injured.
