The monthly meeting of the Harbour Board was held to-day. Our report of the meeting is crowded out by that of the harbour meeting at Geraldine, The chairman presented his annual report) as this was the last ordinary meeting of the present Board. The Post-office clock stopped to-day, having run down. The hands were reefed at XII, where they will stay until the public “ howl” they predicted compels the Borough Council to undertake the small cost of winding and regulating it. The Rev. Father Hilary, C.P. commences a course of addresses to men only at the Church of the Sacred Heart at 7.30 this evening. All are invited. Addresses to mixed congregations will be given in the mornings at 6.30. The Rev. Father is one oi the most eloquent preachers of Australia. He preached in the church some time ago, and his discourse delighted the congregation. A special meeting of the Court Southern Cross was held last night in the Foresters’ Hall, Bro, C. G. Vogeler, Chief Ranger, presiding, and the attendance of members was large. Special business left over from quarter night was brought forward, and great interest was taken in the several discussions and elections. Bros. T. "W. Pratt, P.C.R., and M. J. Shepherd were elected auditors ; Bros. Burford, Bennett, and Osborne, P.C.R., as delegates to the Dispensary Board; and Bros. Vogeler, Bennett, Burd, Harris, Mcßride, McGowan, and Werry as the Hall Committee. The balance sheet showed £66 paid for sick pay, or just half the amount of the previous three months. The actual gain to the sick and funeral fund for the quarter is £57. Two candidates were proposed for membership, and one brother presented his clearance. The receipts for the quarter night and the adjourned meeting amounted to £l7O 68 lid.
