The Daily Telegraph combats the remarks of the London Globe concerning the shipments of eggs from the colonies, and says that the British farmer long ago let the egg trade slip into the hands of France, Germany, and Belgium, and it is with these countries that the colonies are competing rather than with England. The English wheat market has an upward tendency; the continental is steady, and the American firm. Tallow, medium mutton, 22s ; beef, 21s.
