The figures show that 1874 men voted in favour of a strike being declared and 1216 against a strike. As the requisite two-thirds majority was not obtained there will be no general strike. difficulty at the Hetton colliery has been settled and a threatened strike avoided. (By Telegraph.) Twenty-five men, lately employed a) the Onehunga ironworks, have left for Hokianga, the Government havingfound them work at road-forming, etc., in the north of Auckland on the co-operative system. They have been out of work for a considerable time.
