The Egmont Fatality.

NEW PLYMOUTH. Feb 10.
The weather is very wet aud the mountain is covered with clouds, so that it is not expected the party will got further than the tourists’hut and not make the ascent to-day to get Mr South wood’s body. Mr C. Smith, of Wellington, arrived by la-.t night’s express and has identified severe! articles found on the body. Mr Smith when in England obtained tho number of hia nephew’s watch, and its maker’s name. The works are m perfect order, although the watch had been exposed for ten months. Amongst other things found on deceased were ton £1 not ,s, a sovereign, four half sovereigns, half a crown, a farthing, and a quarter anna, railway timetable, and railway return ticket to Palmerston North.
