Geraldine Town Board.
Tbe usual monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening last, there being present Messrs A, White (chairman), W. 8. Maslin, J. Mundell, J. Williams, A. Sberratt, E. Hamond, and N. Dunlop. Tbe following letters were read and dealt with From the secretary of the Charitable Aid Board, stating that the second payment from the Board was now overdue. —The clerk was directed to inform the Board that the amount had been paid to the County Council on Bth December. From Mrs B. Holloway, requesting that a drain be made so that the overflow of water, &0., on her section at the corner of Talbot and Wilson streets could be taken away.—-It was resolved that the inspector view the premises and complete the abatement of any nuisance that may arise. The ranger’s report on stray cattle during the month past was read. A petition was received from ratepayers residing on the western side of Talbot street, asking that tbe water be allowed to run in the side channel. —It was resolved that the petition receive the hearty support of the Board, and the request be granted, and that the water-table near Mr Ward’s section be left intact. The pay sheet, amounting to £l2 16s, was passed for payment. Tbe Board went into committee to revise the by-laws. OADBUEY’S COCOA. [Adtt.] A Broken Hill miner had charged a hole, and while being hauled out of the way, the bucket caught in the timber, and he was precipitated a distance of 23 feet, right on to tbe fizzing fuse.
