Temuka Town Board.

The regular monthly meeting of the Temuka Town Board was held on Wednesday evening. There were present Messrs J. Blyth (chairman), W. Storey, G. Mason, P. Ooira, and 8. Olinch. Correspondence was read as follows : From Mr D. Taylor, asking that his name might be removed from the roll in respeot of part of his section, and that of Mr P. Ooira substituted. Prom Messrs Evan Vallender and W. McLeod, butchers, drawing attention to the fee charged to them for registering sheep dogs, namely, 10s, and stating that their dogs were worked outside the town. They desired to be placed on the same footing as those dealers who resided outside the boundary.— It was stated that the Act gave the Board no option in the matter. Prom Mendelson’s trustees, asking that a lamp-post in front of premises now being erected might be removed a few feet to enable them to erect a verandah --Permission was granted for the erection of a verandah, the board to view and approve of a fresh site for the lamp. From Mr A. M. Clark, applying for an extension of the asphalt footpath as far as his premises, and offering to pay half the cost of the portion in front of his offices. —It was resolved that the work be done. From Mr J. Dyson, asking that an alteration might be made upon the roll —The clerk was instructed to attend to the matter. From Mr Job Brown, in reference to drainage under asphalt.—The application was granted. The overseer’s report was read and approved. On the motion of Mr Mason, seconded by Mr P, Ooira. it was resolved — ll That Mr E. Pilbrow be re appointed dog registrar for the town district, and that the names of all owners or dogs unregistered at the end of 14 days be banded over to • the police to take action.”

Accounts amounting to £92 17s 6d were passed for payment, and the Board rose.
