Legislative Council Appointments.
(By rELSOBAPH.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 2. Beferring to the question of the Legislative Oounoil appointments, the Evening Post says that it has good authority for stating that the Governor has promised the Minister to make fifteen appointments to the Oounci). Jhe names will be submitted on bis arrival in Wellington. The list will almost certainly include Mr Fraser but not Mr Jellieoe. 'The Premier, on the other hand, assured an interviewer to day that it was as likely as not that the names would not be submitted to Lord Onslow at ail, but to his successor. The Government had absolutely come to no determination as to the names, but the number would be considerable, very likely as many as fifteen. Among thorn would bo a proportion of labour representatives strictly drawn from the ranks of the actual working class.
