The Kermadecs.

SETTLEMENT A FAILURE. . (By Tblegeaph.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 26. Arrived—Hinetnoa from the Sunday Islands, Kermadeo Group. She brings back ten settlers from Sunday. Island who report that the settlement is a total failure and regret ever having gone there. They were almost starving at times. During the winter they subsisted chiefly on mutton birds. Mr Howell, promoter of the settlement, has returned disgusted with the Kermadecs. He said Bell and family will also leave the island before long. One family of settlers remain. No wreckage or shipwrecked people were found on the Kermadecs.
