The Diocesan Synod.

OHRISTOHUHCH, June 3

A special meeting of the Diocesan Synod was opened this afternoon, to consider the subject of paying the property tux on the English loan. Bishop Julius presided, and urged the Synod to agree to promote a Bill in Parliament, authorising tho payment of arrears of the tax, interest, and costs thereon, and of the future tax, out of the Church estates. The report of the Church proper'y trustees recommends a similcr course, and notice of motion for carrying it into effect was given.
