THE OMAHU MURDER CASE

WELLINGTON, Oct 29,

The hearing of the charge of murder against Walara Wi was resumed tins afternoon. MrG. A. Preeee, the Resident Magistrate of Napier, gave evidence. He said that in his official capacity he took clown Parauria’s dying depositions at Mrs Donnelly’s house, prisoner being at the time present in custody. Te Tira Turerao, one of the ploughmen who accompanied deceased, was the next witness, and his examination lasted the greater part of the afternoon. His evidence boro out the statement of counsel in his opening address, Te Whetu Te Wharau corroborated the last witness. At 5.30 p in. the court adjourned until to-morrow morning, and the jury were locked up for the night,
