Presbyterian Synod.

DUNEDIN, Oct. 29,

At a meeting of the Presbyterian Synod to-day it was decided to hold a public meeting in the interest of missions on Thursday. A report on the state of religion was brought up, and gave rise to very long discussion and many diverse opinions. As an aid to family worship the Key. Mr Adams suggested the preparation of a prayer book. Others who referred to this approved of the suggestion. The report, which recommended a week of prayer and the appointment of evangelistic deputies, was adopted. A committee was appointed to draw up an address to the Governor.
