(By Telegraph.) OAMARU, May 26, A girl, rged 11 years, daughter of Mr W. J. Williams, of Waitaki North, died suddenly on Saturday. She was being brought into town by her father for medical advice, when she suddenly expired. The medical evidence at the inquest showed that death resulted from an affection of the throat which caused suffocation. The verdict was “ death from natural causes." WELLINGTON, May 26. Early this morning the body of a man named Richard Jones, employed as a cook and steward of the barque Peri, lying alongside the railway wharf, was found floating in the harbour. He was last seen alive at 1 a.m., when he said he was going on board. It is supposed that in the darkness he went over the wharf.
