A Ferocious Bull.

(By Telegraph.)

INVERCARGILL, May 4,

A settler near Wyndham named Ferguson was attacked by a bull and knocked down. His wife called a man some distance off, but without waiting for him courageously rushed to her husband's assistance. The bull turned on her and tossed her in the air. The brute was eventually driven off with an axe and subsequently shot. Ferguson was severely bruised about the head and neck, and his wife had three ribs broken, and was also badly bruised.
