MIDLAND RAILWAY.

(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, Nov; 23. , The following is the Midland Railway Committee’s report:—“ That, in the opinion of the Committee, a new contract should bo prepared, embodying the several provisions of the Acts of 1884 and 1886, the contract of 1885 legalised by the Act of 1886, and the further contract amending the contract of 1885, and that an Act should be past empowering the Governor to execute such new contract. Such new contract should, as far as practicable, contain provisions in the same words as are used in the said Acta and contracts, and where any deviation is necessary in order to render the new contract consistent throughout, the alterations required should be to the same purport and effect as the draft contract hereunto amended.”
