GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The ordinary monthly meeting was held on Monday evening last. Present —Messrs Dunlop, Lawson, Cook and A. Sherratt. A letter was read from the Board of Education, intimating that the sum of £ll 14s 8d had been placed to the credit the Committee in the Bank, for incidentals. Mr Cook, on behalf of the retiring Committee, stated that they had accepted the tender of Mr J. Dean for the supply of wood and coal during the winter months.

The action of the Committee was approved. ■ .. Tho Chairman was requested to write to tho Board of Education for six copies of the Education Act for the use of the Oemmitteo. Tho Hoad Master’s report was read to the effect that the average attendance during the past month was 171. He asked for leave of absence on Monday next to mid-day, as he had to go to Christchurch on the previous Saturday. The pump required repairing and tho •pouting around the Master's house also. Leave of absence was granted as requested, and tho necessary repairs left to the Visitor for tho month. Mr Cook, on behalf of the Visitors, reported that when they visited the school they found everything working satisfactory. Tho attendance on that day was 181. The meeting then terminated.
