Shocking Accident and Suffering; Eaweea, Dec. 10. James Harvey, a bushfaller, was killed at Letham on Friday by a tree falling on him. He was missed on Saturday, and was discovered underneath the tree. The work o£ extricating him was difficult, and was not accomplished till midnight, when he died. Fire. Nelson, Dec, 10. Yesterday morning, a three-roomed unoccupied cottage, belonging to Mr Hardy, was destroyed by fire. It had recently been used as a share zoom and was uninsured. Mr Hardy and the watchman state the building was locked on Saturday night, but the policeman who discovered the fire, says the door was unlocked. The place contained some sacks of wheat and some casks. A Late Wreck* Regarding the wreck of the cutter fJouthern Cross, it appears that the wind failing she was carried on the
rocks by the tide, and a gale sequently springing up she was dashed to pieces. Turner and Harvey, after saving all they could, went to Pelorous, where they live.
