* A Pedestrian Enthusiast' Wellington, Nov. 7. Mr White, of the Bank Hotel here, has agreed to give £IOO to be competed for between Edwards and Scott. The time is to be 48 hours and the contest is to take place within this month. No reply has as yet been received from Edwards or Scott. Stud Merino Sheep. Chbistchubch, Nov. 7. At the sale of stud merino sheep this morning, the highest price was 160 guineas, given for James Gibson’s (Tasmania) tw o‘tooth ram, by Sampson, by Old Sir Thomas. 105 guineas was given for another ram of Gibson’s.
