A DISASTROUS YEAR.

There are two prophets in America who have delivered themselves of remarkably unpleasant predictions for 1883. The first is James M. Swormstedt, of Cincinnati. His lucubrations are as follows:

“ A great financial panic will sweep like wildfire over the United States some time in 1883, which will prostrate all industries, paralyse all business, and throw out of employment every man, woman and child in the country. “The condition of working classes will become so desperate that they will rise up like a flood and sweep away both Church and State, and fill the land with violence. “Satan will soon wheel a fleet of seven great comets into line. One will plunge into the sun, producing a great outburst of solar light and heat. The moon will be as light as the sun, and the light of the sun will be increased sevenfold. The other sii will affect the rivers, the sea, the earth and the air.

“ The millennium or reign of Christ will begin in the United Stales 40 years before tbe rest of the world is made new by the good King." The other hails from New York. He claims to have bad visions, dreams, impressions and warnings from the “spirit guides” of remarkable changes and disasters to take place soon. He predicts another civil war for the United States. Not only this country, but every nation and people on earth will feel tbe horrors or war, famine, and pestilence, earthquakes, floods and terrible convulsions of nature. The last king or queen ever to sit upon the throne of England aits there now. Soon the only form of government will be the republican for all people.
