Mr Poyne, a Parnellite has been elected without opposition, to the vacancy which has occurred in the representation of Tipperary in the House of Commons. Raised to the BenchIt is announced that Mr C. P. Butt, Q.C. the Liberal M.P. for Southampton, has been appointed Judge in the Probate Divorce and Admiralty Division of the Supreme Court of Judicature vice the Eight Hon. Sir Robert Philimore, Baronet, resigned. A ContradictionMelbourne, March 31. Sir Bryan O’Loghlen, declares that Mr Gillies’ recent statement regarding the amount of the last loan which is available for railways, is misleading.
