NEW INDUSTRY. Mr J. Talbot presided yesterday at a meeting of gentlemen in Temuka re the proposed Linseed Oil and Fibre Com pany. There was some animated discussion re Mr Mendelson’s strong protest against the proceedings being made public ; terminating in publicity being decided.upon, on which Mr Mendelson left the room. The following resolutions were carried :—“ That the capital of the Company consist of 1200 shares of £5 each,” “ That Messrs R. A. Barker,W. Lyon, J. Paterson, J. Talbot, S D. Barker, R. K. Parkerson, Trezise, W. A. Murray, E. Pilbrow, and Dr Hayes be the provisional directors, with power to add to their number.’’ That Dr Hayes, Messrs J. Talbot, and E. Pilbrow be appointed as a sub-committee to draft the prospectus of the Company.” “ That the Secretary write to the Canterbury Linseed Company, and also to the Eangiora Linseed Company, asking for information as. jto the nece'ssary machinery.”
