THE OAMARU MURDER CASE.
[By Telegraph.] o amaru, July 18, Alexander Beattie was charged at the Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning with the murder of Margaret Beattie, at Papakaio, on or about June 10. The evidence adduced so far is the very same as that given at the inquest last week. Sergeant Major Thompson in opening the case, said he would produce evidence that Ibe woman was alive on June 10, when Beattie went home. The theory of the prosecution was, that the prisoner murdered'her on his return that night, and that he buried her on the following day, when he loft the hotel, where ho had a bed. The case is likely to last two or three days.
