• ' OAMARU EACES. [By Teleoraph.J 0 amaru, June 12. The following is the continuation of these races : Tally-ho Stakes, of 50 sovs ; weight for age. Clarence 1 . WHy Not ... 2 Baron ... ... ... 3 Young Sledmero and Gangawa also ran. The first water jump was negotiated by Baron and Clarence, but Youilg Sledmere' and Why Not baulked. Gangawa had previously run off the course. At the second attempt Why Not was got over,, and rapidly overhauled the leaders. Gangawa took the gorse fence about three lengths in advance of Clarence, but when on the plough was passed by the latter, who led over the next gorse. On reaching the straight. Why Not made his effort, but Clarence won a capital race by three-quarters of a length. Consolation Race, of 30 sovs. * Black Doctor ... ... 1 Gang Awa ... ... 2 Trovatore ... ... 3 This was a good race. All the jumps were taken by Black Doctor who only beat Gang Awa’ by a neck.
