Not Half Enough. Auckland, Oct. 13Juvenile prostitution is becoming fearfully common here, cases frequently coming before the Magistrate’s Court. This morning a man named Stephenson, the keeper of a brothel, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for entrapping a young girl only 12 years of age. Maori Burglars. The case against five Natives, for breaking and entering a store at Witu is now proceeding. ElectoralCandidates for election seem to he holding back. Mr Boardman is mentioned for City North. Two Forgers PunishedWellington, Got. 10. At the Supreme Court to-day, John A. Gordon, for forgery, was sentenced to four years, and E. M. Symonds, also for forgery, to two years. The case against Gordon Philips, for false pretences, is now proceeding. This is the last case on the calendar. From the Flowery LandThe three-masted schooner May arrived from China this morning. London Markets. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report under date London October 11:—The wheat market is quiet, Adelaide, 58s 6d per 4961b5; New Zealand, 55s 6d ; tallow market, firm ; best mutton being worth £43 per ton ; beef* £39. Leather market quiet, best sides worth 11-J-d per lb. New Zealand, hemp is in brisk demand and is worth £2B per ton. Christs College SportsCheistchuech, Oct. 13. Tho Christs College annual sports were held to-day, and were a great success. . Magisterial. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, George Eowloy, who was arrested on a warrant from Dunedin for bigamy, was remanded till to-morrow. Fred. Lane, for stealing 19 copper boilers the property of S. Nashelski, was committed for trial at the Supreme Court,
