Dr Eenwick, M.L. A. for East Sydney has been appointed Secretary for Mines, vice the Hon E. A Baker, who resigned the portfolio in August last. Another Steamer Struck. Melbouene, Oct. 12. Telegrams are to hand from Port Darwin, announcing that the Eastern and Australian Mail Steamship Company’s steamer Brisbane, hound from Hong Kong to Brisbane, has struck on a reef in Clarence Strait, about thirty miles from Port Darwin. Assistance has been sent from the latter place, and as the weather is fine it is hoped the steamer may be got of without injury.
