Golf.

{By "Mashie.") The Mixed Foursomes ou Saturday was very well contested and the Club has nothing to complain about in the enthusiasm of its members. The winners turned up in Mr Halliday and Mrs Ritchie, who returned a nett score of 32 : quite a good performance. Mr McCarthy and Mrs Paul were next with 34, followed by Consul Roberts and Mrs Darroch (38) Mr Burnett and Miss Macdonald (39). The others finished in the forties and fifties. Some of the players were under the impression that alternative tee shots were not necessary and played alternate shots right through. This is - wrong. The men and women should play alternate shots from the tees. All players should endeavour to make themselves acquainted with the rule,s. The committee is arranging for a notice board to be set up so that reference can be made thereto for roles and handicaps. The stroke match for the men gave a win to Syddall with a score of 32. McCarthy, Jr., was next with 34. Members are reminded that a Canadian Foursome is down for October 2: this should provide a very interesting game.
