WARKWORTH SUB-CENTRE
The Red Cross headquarters comforts committee advises that it has pleasure in acknowledging a very fine contribution of clothing from this sub-centre —altogether 180 articles. They request that their grateful thanks be extended to members for the splendid work done. Letters have been received from the British Red Cross, stating that every garment forwarded has been put to good use, special mention being made of the excellent quality of the clothing. Recently a further 54 articles have been forwarded. Women's War Service i Auxiliary The local sub-centre has been advised that the Women's War Service Auxiliary will be pleased to receive a list of Red Cross members and their addresses for the purpose of compiling a register of women power, thus obviating the necessity for individual registration of members. This list is in course of compilation by the local secretary. Successful Dance The usual Red Cross dance was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Monday last when a crowd of young folk danced the "light fantastic" to music supplied by the Rhythm Boys orchestra. Extras w'ere played by Madam Dunn, of Auckland, and Miss Lillian Langr.idge. The Monfce Carlo prizes were won by Mr Fred. Edwards and Miss Marjorie Stubbs.
