Power Shut-down . The Public Works Department is carrying out further work on the new UO,OOO-volt line between Penrose and Henderson between 11 p.m. tomorrow evening (Thursday) and 4 a.m. Friday morning, March 14th. This work will affect, the sjipply of power in the whole of the Waitemata Electric-Power Board area which will be cut off during the abovementioned period. We understand this will be the final shut-down on account of this crossing work. Farmee's Patriotic Gift At the recent auction sale conducted by the. N.A. Farmers' Co-op., Ltd., a fat cow generously donated by Mr A. Sanderson, of Wark worth, on behalf of the. local Patriotic funds realised the sum of £10/17/6. Clothes and .Bag Appeal Assist the Warkworth Patriotic Comforts Committee to help the fighting men overseas —send your clean old clothes and rags to the Warkworth depot by next Friday. Your donations will be gratefully welcomed. Warkworth Lad's New Post Advice has just been received by Mrs B. A. Simpson, Warkworth, that her son, Gordon, who was'a junior officer on the '^Waiotira," sunk in the Atlantic, has joined the "Tudor Star" as fourth-officer.
