Matakana Show

SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE

Good Quality Stock

' Glorious weather prevailed for the Matakana A. & H, Society's bhow held at Matakana last Ihursday. There was an increased attendance of the public compared with the previous year, the gate receipts amounting to over A<22.

The cattle were represented chiefly by Jerseys and Shorthorns the entry of Friesians being somewhat disappointing. Increased support was accorded the pig section, and apart from its numerical strength, the quality was excellent./ There was quite good competition in the sheep classes and m the horse section there was a particularly pleasing entry of heavy horses. The exhibits shown in the hall, although of splendid quality, were not as numerous as usual, the ravages of the recent storm being responsible for fewer entries coming forward in the vegetable, fruit and flower sections.
