The large number who attended Mrs Eosieur's dance on Friday,, July 22nd, had a most enjoyable time/the dance being a great success. The. hall was artistically decorated with oiikau palnis and creepers, and splendid music' was supplied by Mr Pick Saxon's orchestra from Auckland. Mr Alf. Morris officiated as M.C. and dancing was kept going till the early hours. The catering was in the capable hands of Mrs E. Harper. 'Women's/Institute. The /monthly meeting of the Omaha and ?akiri Women's Institute was; held in the Leigh hall on July 2Qth, the president, ii|if* Gi B. White, occupying, the; jcirak. ■ Mesdames Woodcock1 "aticl Gozar contributed a vocal item. Mrs ,Gw(B..White was elected to attend the-Auckland conference of Institutes as a delegate. ■' Mrs Bathgate was in charge of a well-laden stall. Mrs Morley proposed to send a box of butter to an Institute in England for distribution amongst the members to advertise New Zealand butter; this motion was carried unanimously. A competition arranged by' Mrs G. B. White was wdn by Mrs A., J. ■Matheson, Mrs J. Torkington gaining second prize. A dainty afternoon tea was served the hostesses being Mesdames Whitaker, G.
