CASTOR OIL.

Castor oil is one of the safest and mose efficacious medicines which can be given for colic. To prevent griping and to allay the pain of the colic, the chemist should add a few drops of laudinum, according to the age of the patient; but the laudanum must on no account be given to infants. A simple method of taking castor oil is to half fill a wineglass with cold water and to float the dose of one of two tablespoonsful of castor oil on the surface.
