Warkworth Town Board.
The Town Board has been working overtime. At a meeting held on, the Ilth inst., when there were present Mr N. Wilson, (chairman), Messrs A. Warm and T. Williams ; a considerable portion of the evening was spent on by-law drafting. Exchange of Land. The Rev. Mr Teale waited on the Board with regard to the Old Hall site. He hp.d heard it suggested that the land should be used for a hospital. If so, he had a tentative suggestion to make. The church had ten acres at the top of Hill-street, which would make an ideal site for a. hospital. It could not be sold, but it could be exchanged. He thought it might be advantageous to l»otn bodies to ex-* change. The chairman said as some members were absent, the proposal would be considered. Taylor Memokial List. A subscription list for the Taylor memorial fund was received. Mr Williams asked if the list Was to erect a memorial or to provide for a need. It was explained that the subscriptions would relieve the widow and children. Mr Williams moved " That the subscription list be permitted to lie at the Board's office," seconded by Mr Warm/ and carried. Another meeting was held on the 17th inst., when all the members were present. Lighting for Hall. The Board considered the different lightssubmitted for the hall. Another new light was displayed by a representative of a city house. Both were tempting save for the footlights, for which it would not do. It was decided to accept Mr Murray's tender to instal acetlyne for £57, provided a guarantee was given that the generator was big enough to keep all lights going for 9 hours.
