RONGOTEA NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent. The Harvest Thanksgiving of Rongotea Methodist Church was held on Sunday 29th February, Rev B. J. James taxing the services both morning and evening. The choir rendered suitable anthems appropriate to the occasion. The church was decked out with all good things, and on Monday evening, at the Sunday School, these were disposed of, the proceeds being devoted to the installing of the electors lighting of the Church, when over £7 was realised. Mr A. Glover officiated as salesman. During the evening a Musical and Instrumental entertainment was given by members of Feilding Salvation Army, which was highly appreciated, and at the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Army members for their splendid entertainment. The following items were rendered:— Chairman’s opening remarks, Rev James; Duet, Mesdames Petty and Wishuoskey; Instrumental Quartette, Band; Humorous Reading, Mr Tremain ; Solo, Mrs Petty; Cornet Solo,. Bandmaster Johnson; Reading, Mr Tremain; Solo, Mrs Wishnoskey, Euphonium Solo, Mr Lamberton; Instrumental Quartette, Band ; Address, Captain Gill-Inglia. After all the fruit, vegetables and produce etc. was sold, the visitors were entertained at supper by the ladies of the congregation before leaving on their return Journey to Feilding.
