MARTON, FRIDAY. “A GAME OF WITS.” Jeanette Browning returns from a party, bids her escort goodbye at the door and, as she passes through the hallway overhears loud talk in her father’s library. Listening, slv hears Silas Stone, a Wall Stref ; wolf, demanding her as his wife r ; a price for saving her father froi . financial ruin. Jeanette walks with unconcern into the room, greets the men with a proposal of marriage. When Jeanette leaves the room Stone and the father agree to keep secret the conversation which preceded Jeanette’s appearance. Jeanette assumes to totally disregard the difference in theimges. Stone is invited to the mountains to spend a holiday at the Browning Cottage. Tha t la part of the story in which Gail Kane is the star actress at Everybody’s on Friday night. A Gaumont Graphic and a comic entitled ‘‘A Hotel Mix Uxi” will also be screened.
