THE PAISLEY ELECTION.

United Press Association — By Elec trie Telegraph—Copyright. Received Feb 13 1.5 p.m, London, Feb 12. The Paisley polling is proceeding to-day Yesterday’s activity of all parties was tremendous. Anticipators of the result are remaining cautions, and it is expected to be a close thing between Mr Asquith and Mr Bigger The Liberals are hopeful of a small majority, and Labour is more optimistic. It is computed in well informed quarters that Mr Asquith’s output of speeches in ten days surpasses anything in£ living memory, except Gladstone in his Mlldothian campaign • The Efaily Chronicle, which is the principaljorgan supporting Mr Lloyd George, interprets his speech as a first move io a new political struggle which may greatly affect parties. The speech gives the Coalitionists a definite lead and will probably heal the differences which have recently attracted attention. It will certainly rally the Unionist wing, and smaller politics, which tended to divide the Coalitionists will disappear in the resistance of al.’.-ronnd nationalisation, and especially in the fight between constitutionalism and direct action.
