LONDON CLUB PROPOSAL.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph-Copyright. Received Jan 29, 9 a.m. Loudon, Jan 27.
Sir Thomas Mackenzie interviewed regarding the great Imperial Club which the Prince of Wales said yesterday ho.ls .very keen about, says it would cost a million more than at present. The High Commissioners and Agents-General try to do their beat tor overseas visitors, fbut their power and facilities are limited. The Colonial and Imperial Institutes and other organisations are doing work, bnt”a Club is wanted for the reception and accommodation of ‘overseas folk, where they may meet each other, and English men and women interested in Imperial affairs, and where they would be able to offer hospitality to their friends. A Club should give simple inexpensive receptions for those who desired to establish connection with it, and be a central"institution where overseas visitors and British traders could readily come together.
