The King gave a banquet to the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace. His Majesty congratulated the Prince on forging a new link between Canada and the • Mother Country. His Majesty expressed great appreciation of the cordial, even affectionate, . welcome the Prince had received from the Government and people in Washington and New York" It had always been his urgent wish that the relations between the two great English-speak-ing nations should bo of the closest and most friendly nature, and that they should work together for the good of civilisation aud mankind. He trusted the Prince’s visit would assist to that end. The Prince of Wales, replying, said the tour had only intensified’ his desire to see more of the Empire. He looked forward keenly to visiting Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, aud India early in the future.
