A SATISFACTORY MEETING. W9MfW» ALLOTMENT OF PORTFOLIOS. Per Press Association. Wellington, Sept, 1, The Reform Caucus sat for 2% hours to-night. At the conclusion Mr Massey announced that the meeting had been of a most satisfactory nature. Positions in the Cabinet had been offered to Messrs Hine and Nosworthy, and they had accepted. Cabinet rank had also been offered two other members of the party, but negotiations were not yet completed. Several changes in portfolios will take place. Mr Herries hands over the Railways to Mr Massey, who gives up Finance to Sir James Allen. Mr Herries remains Native Minister. The Premier states that he expects to announce the remainder of the Cabinet appointments in a day or two.
