i From Our Own Correspondent. A pleasing ceremony was performed at the conclusion of the' cadet drill on Monday, night when: Sergt.-Major Sanders presented the Cup and models recently won by the boys. The silver enp was won by' Private L. Newman at the Group Rifle Meeting of the Hunteville 45th company, held in February last;, this is to hold for one year. Private Newman also won a gold medal, which is bis own property. At the Wtlliugton military district rifle meeting held at Wanganui on the 24th and 25th instanto re'-pe?-flvelv tiie Are light was won by a team of four of the Hunterville 45th Company, in charge of Corp. Brennan, and included a gold medal for each of the boys, also £3 (three pounds). Tbe'temi comprised the> following:—Corporal Brennan, and Privates. E. Gibb 3 , C. Goebel, L. Newman, uni Henry Wilson. After making the presentation, Sergt.Major Sanders congratulated the boys upon their fine performance, which reflects great credit upon them,and is an honor of which they may well feel proud. A meeting of the Hunterville District Returned Soldiers will be held in Mr Stevenson’s tea rooms on Saturday, the iOtii of May, to discuss the Returned Sold’era’ annual ball. The meeting commences at 7.80 p.m. It is expected that Private F. W, Ensom, son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Eoeotu.will arrive in New Zealand shortly, per the “Northumberland”*
