Waters) has received the following letter from E. Newman, Esq., M.P., which has been sent from Hon W D. MacDonald, the Minister : 1918-19 Season—Under the arrangement made by the Dominion Butter Committee, an Equalisation Fund lias been established for this season and. applies to all creamery butter .exported and sold locally. Tlie fund is credited with an amount of 6s fid per box on all butter exported, and arrangements are now being made for an interim distribution from this* fund representing one penny per 1U on butter sold locally and 7-16 d per lb on butter exported. This distribution will bring the receipts for both exporting and local factories in respect of all sales to Is G 7-lfid per lb. f. o.b. It will ho necessary to obtain from local factories particulars of butter sold locall}* ‘during tlie present season, and a form for the purpose of furnishing this information is now being distributed to all factories. The interim payment of Id per lb will be due immediately on receiptof correctly prepared returns from tlie factories interested.
