NEXT WEDNESDAY A meeting of the general committee of the Marton District A. and P. Association was held last evening Mr J McDonell presiding An application from Miss Cook, Msrton, to errct a Rest Tent for mothers on the showground was received, permission granted, and appreciation recorded in favour of such a deserving movement. A request from the Salvation Army to take up collections for the Self-Denial Fund was not entertained. It was decided that the exhibits in the lambs for export section be forwarded to the Kakariki Freezing Wojks, and Mr F. Rickman was empowered to arrange for their killing on Friday morning Tbs secretary reported that the following entries had been received for the sbo sv : Horses and competitions .... 239 Cattle .... .... 141 Sheep 391 Dogs .... .... 38 Total .... .... 809 Doge ami cattle show a decided increase, and the entries in ’.tuo horses and competition/! and sheep are about the eame as last year. One hundred and ninety-seven entries have been received in the fat lambs and sheep section, All arrangements are well in hand for th,e Show, and if the present weather prevails the 1919 Show ehonid bear favourable comparison with previous shows. Tbe final meeting of the committee will be held on Saturday evening next at 8 o’clock.
