COCKATOO STRIKE SETTLED, w^rv-v (Aust. and B.Z. Gable Association.) Sydney, February 18. Cockatoo Island boilermakers have accepted the Government’s terms, and decided to sign.the shipbuilding agreement and'resame work. 48-HOUR WEEK WANTED Melbourne, February 18 •.The Trade Hall Council is seeking the .co-op ration of Labour Councils in ofei’ier States to agitate for a fortyhour week in all industries in order to solvk' the Repatriation problem. THE DRIVERS’ DISPUTE. Per Press Association. Auckland, Feb 18 The Dominion drivers’ dispute was further considered by the Conciliation Council in committee today, when an agreement was reached in respect to the employment of casual workers’and youths, the wages of motor drivers, and overtime rates. The Council than adjourned. The Commissioner confidently expects a foil settlement will be reached to-morrow. THE BLACKBALL DISPUTE Per Press Association Wellington, February 19. No settlement is yot announced in the Blackball dispute. The National Disputes Committee is still in Wellington AUCKLAND TRAMWAY DISPUTE Per Press Association. Auckland February 18. The Auckland Tramways Union has endorsed the action of its representatives in accepting the conditions agreed upon at Sunday’s conference, but reserve the right to take such action as may he deemed nece°sary should any unreasonable delay occur in putting the terms of the agreement into force. They also ask for payment of increased rates as from February 17th in regard to the coachworkers and nightshift. The Union demands a favourable reply from the company by noon gfl prarsday.
