BULLS TENNIS CLUB.

The adjourned annual meeting of the dab was bold at the courts ou Wednesday afternoon, about thirty players and friends being present. In the unavoidable absence of Mr Fountain, J(club captain), Mr C. M. Broughton presided. It was explained that the previous meeting had decided that *the usual subscription be charged for the 19181919 season, viz, gentlemen 10s, ladies ss, visitors 2s 6d per month. The report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The financial position of the club was considered satisfactory, a cash balance of £lO 14s lid Jbeing in hand at the commencement of the season. A new net had since been purchased and one of the courts repaired The other court will require top dressing in the near future The report ©lso mentioned the sincere regret felt by memhtrs for the death on active service during the year of Mr J. E. Deehan, the late treasurer of the club, and who was for years an energetic ana popular member. The following officers were elected for the season:—Club captain, Mr Fountain; secretary and treasurer, Mr Ealfe. Men’s Committee—Messrs Fountain, A Green, Jolly, Nettle, Broughton, Phillips, Cricbton and the secretary. A votegof thanks to the chair 'concluded the meeting. Play was then resumed on the courts and continued until dusk. The prospects of the club for the season appear good and It is not surprising, considering the way the present courts are crowded, that the question of putting down a third court should have been mooted. A suggestion that funds might he raised by the holding of tennis assemblies and a ball during the winter months, appeared to find favour among those present. delicate hint conveyed to members during the afternoon brought an immediate response, the treaamer of the club being almost inundated by the ensuing flood of subscriptions. According to the latest reports however, there are still a few forms left in the receipt book which he would be only too pleased to fill in for any players, who may have missed the point of tho aforesaid innuendo.
