Sir Douglas Haig reports local lighting iu the neighbourhood of Parv’illres. We progressed, foliowing tho''enemy ; a recent in the Hebuterne sector. The enemy evacuated forward positions at Beumout Hamel, Serre, Puisieus, Aumont and Bucquoy. patrols advancing, gained ground around these villages. Oar eontinnous bombing, day and night, of the Somme bridges, railway lines and rail junctions since the beginning of the offensive, has held up tne enemy’s reinforcements, and also forced him to employ large formations of scouts iu an effort to protect vital commuui cations, but our of machines have effectively dealt with all opposition. We dropped 31 tons during the day-time, and 37 tons at night-time above objectives. Anglo-Americans raided an aerodrome at a low height destroyed sis machines and fired tiie hangars. We brought down 21 machiuesjand drove down ten out of control. Sis British are missing.
